Position Overview:
Join our Engineering Test & Evaluation Division to manage and support groundbreaking engineering and applied research projects for commercial and government clients. You’ll work directly with directors, program managers, and technical staff, driving project coordination, analytics, and financial oversight for innovative programs. This is an ideal role for someone aiming to grow into a senior technical or program management position. This is an exciting opportunity to have exposure across an entire Division’s portfolio of programs and growth-oriented business planning.
About You:
You’re a detail-oriented, self-driven professional with experience in technology organizations. You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy collaborating with engineers and researchers, and have a knack for organization and analysis. Your goal is to ensure project success by balancing technical execution with financial and administrative management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Understand and dissect SOW requirements, milestone/task schedules, etc. to guide the project team and program manager in achieving technical and financial goals
- Prepare analyses and reports as required by the program manager for budget and resource reviews, technical review boards, and other program reviews as required
- Develop and track budgets, forecasts, expenditures, invoices, and financial metrics to ensure project health by collaborating with corporate contracts and accounting teams
- Manage and track cost estimation, procurement approvals, and purchasing of equipment, subcontractors’ services, and software services as required in projects
- Facilitate team meetings, capture action items, document technical discussions, develop internal/external project status reports, and track deliverables
- Support risk and configuration management, ensuring projects meet milestones on time and within budget
- Analyze resources to assist in developing master schedules and project plans
- Develop work breakdown structures and associated cost proposals for new opportunities
Required Education, Certification, Skills, Capabilities:
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field
- 5+ years of project management experience in engineering or technology fields
- Strong organizational, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills working independently, as part of a team, and with customers and partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
- Ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and ensure data accurac
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Familiarity with DoD contracting, budgeting, and program management
- Experience with Unanet or similar ERP/CRM platforms, Jira/Confluence, MS Visio and MS Project
- Knowledge of contract types (CPAF, CPFF, LOE, FPLOE, FFP, T&M, IDIQs, etc.)
- Training in PMP, Agile and/or Scrum methodologies
- Experience mentoring junior project managers or analysts
- Experience working in the Information and Communications Technology industry
Primary Work Location:
- Work is to be performed in Arlington, VA with remote work flexibility under the Hybrid Work & Telecommuting Policy.
