Overview
The Nexus team has an opportunity for a Project Manager - Meter to Cash Special Projects. This position leads one or more projects assigned by the VP Billing Operations, and is accountable for all project outputs, which may include hands-on development of deliverables and project content. This position also engages with the enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO), receiving support and direction regarding project-related activities and standards, enabling the attainment of project outcomes.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will be primarily based at our office in Altamonte Spring, FL . Minimum 3 days per week, with up to 2 days of work-from-home. The amount and timing of WFH days will be set by VP Billing
What You'll Do
- Lead project teams composed of internal and external resources, providing work direction, oversight, coaching and mentorship to ensure timely and on-budget delivery of project deliverables & outcomes. Creates plans, roadmaps and other project management artifacts to enable clarity of goals and expectations, effective project communications, and coordination across the project team.
- Develop project deliverables and program content directly as required, including business process assessments, creating process documentation, participating in the design of future state processes and services delivery models, and recommending business process improvements.
- Prepares and delivers regular and ad hoc project status reports to stakeholder groups that may include Project Sponsors and/or Steering Committee, ePMO, Executive Management and Board committees.
- Manage risk for the assigned projects, ensuring all actions are in accordance with the program risk management framework and established best practices
- Manage assigned projects, as empowered by the project and program charters, according to established project management best-practices such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, MSP, etc.
- Directly authors or develops project management and business analysis artifacts in support of the project, including plans, reports, deliverables, business requirements, status reports, etc.
- As assigned, manages contracts and/or Statements of Work with external vendors, contractors and service providers
- Ensure continued alignment between project activities & deliverables, and overall project goals
- Work at the direction of the Program Management Office to support other day-to-day needs
- Ensure that project activities and deliverables meet to quality standards
- Coach and mentor internal resources, supporting the continued maturing of Nexus's business project delivery capabilities
- Direct and supervise staff, participating in recruitment, selection, orientation, training and evaluation of employees; maintains a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
What You'll Bring
Experience
- 7 years relevant business experience
- IT project management experience required,
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certified Project Management Practitioner (PMP) or equivalent, OR 10 years direct project management experience
Nice to Have
- ERP and/or customer billing preferred.
- Utility experience strongly preferred, particularly customer metering and billing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experienced and capable project manager, with a track record of successful definition and leadership of business and IT projects.
- Strong technical project management understanding including typical PM artifacts (charters, plans, schedules, budgets, status updates, RAID) and tools (MS Project, document mgt (Sharepoint/teams), Excel, PPT)
- Experience with using an enterprise project financial management tool for budgeting & reporting (e.g. SAP, Oracle Fusoin)
- Utilities experience is highly preferred, and ideally involves experience with customer care and billing.
- Strong communicator able to write clearly, concisely and effectively in both written prose (docs) and using visual/presentation methods such as PowerPoint.
Work Environment
- Normal office setting
- Must be able to travel to Canada, when required
- Occasional work travel within the US and Canada is required and will depend on the needs of project. Over an average year, travel may be up to 25%.
