Job Description
The location of this position is flexible and can be based out of several of our West Central group offices: Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, Denver CO, or Kansas City MO.

As part of our growth plans, the West Central Group (WCG) is seeking a strong leader to serve as PMCL for water and environmental projects in WCG.
Job Description:
The PMCL is a key role in delivering projects per our Corporate Quality Standards, providing excellent client service, and maximizing the long-term profitability of the firm. A successful PMCL builds a high-performing project management team through effective leadership and rigorous application of Project Delivery framework.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Support the WCG Delivery Leader in the day-to-day operation of the business unit, including project delivery performance, go/no-go decisions, pricing strategies, risk management, forecasting and budgeting, and performance reporting.
• Provide interpretation of monthly performance figures to support overall business unit management and to the project managers to proactively resolve project issues and improve project performance.
• In coordination with the WCG Delivery Leader, assign project management staff to ensure timely, effective, and efficient execution of projects.
• Identify and close capability gaps among project management staff, providing valuable team management and talent development support to foster career growth and required skills of project managers.
• Lead and coordinate with the Technical Services Unit’s Regional Team Leaders efforts to integrate improved resource management (e.g., implementation of resource-loaded scheduling capabilities and practices).
• Actively support CDM Smith’s Project Delivery framework implementation by project managers within the group.
• Conduct regular project review meetings with project managers to monitor project-level performance, budget, schedule, risk, and quality management in support of program/group-level reporting and management.
• Assist in developing and reviewing proposal pricing and scope of work to support Business Unit objectives and individual bid pricing strategies.
• Review and approve proposal and project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Review and approve project enrollments to ensure profitability, quality, and other PM best management practices are employed.
• Drive consistent project management practices and procedures in alignment with CDM Smith PM requirements and those of the group.
• Serve as a project manager for a sub-set of projects within WCG, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk in compliance with CDM Smith’s Project Delivery framework and Quality Management requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
