Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Project Land Surveyor to join our dynamic engineering team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a self-driven professional who is passionate about land surveying and has a deep understanding of parcel and tracking maps. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all surveying projects from start to finish, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with industry regulations. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and precision in all aspects of their work.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct and supervise land and property surveys to establish legal boundaries, property lines, and relevant land features.
2. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys.
3. Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
4. Direct and lead the work of surveying teams on large and complex projects.
5. Coordinate findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects.
6. Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy.
7. Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
8. Develop and enhance the surveying department by improving procedures and utilizing the best equipment and software.
9. Train and mentor junior surveyors and provide advice on methods and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is required.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying, preferably in the engineering industry.
4. Proficiency in using advanced surveying equipment and software, such as GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and AutoCAD.
5. Extensive knowledge of parcel and tracking maps.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a busy and evolving environment.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
