Project Financial Analyst - The Copper River Family of Companies

Copper River Shared Services is looking for a Project Financial Analyst to support the financial planning and analysis activities for various projects across the Copper River Family of Companies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing team within the organization. The successful candidate will provide critical financial insights and analysis to support effective decision-making. This position reports to the Director of Project Finance and is based in Chantilly, VA, with a hybrid work option available.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, and Operating Company Leaders to assist in maintaining rolling 12–18-month project-level revenue and gross margin forecasts.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of Revenue Backlog reports in partnership with key departments.
- Assist in preparing monthly Estimate at Completion analyses and work with the accounting team on monthly revenue recognition.
- Contribute to monthly revenue and gross margin variance reporting at the project and company levels.
- Provide Program Managers and Operating Company Leaders with timely financial reports and guidance on tools (timesheet reporting, utilization, backlog, budget to actuals, etc.).
- Participate in monthly reviews with Operating Company Leaders and Program Managers to identify variance drivers and recommend corrective actions.
- Help generate labor utilization reports and ensure they are communicated effectively to stakeholders.
- Perform project set-up and modifications in Costpoint.
- Support additional financial and operational tasks as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in government contracting and program financial management.
- Basic understanding of revenue recognition for various contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, etc.).
- Familiarity with FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit standards.
- Experience with Deltek/Costpoint is required.
- Knowledge of ANC/Tribal organizations and/or 8(a) contracting is a plus.
- Exposure to forecasting/reporting tools (e.g., TM1, Hyperion) is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
