Project Executive – Mission Critical Construction (Sterling, VA)

Thor Companies, a leader in mission critical recruitment, is seeking a seasoned Project Executive for a prestigious data center project in Sterling, VA. This role is perfect for a skilled electrical contractor professional with a passion for end-to-end project management in the mission critical field. Local candidates only—must be within an hour’s commute.

Role Overview:

• Lead and oversee all phases of data center projects, from preconstruction to closeout.
• Manage detailed project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, ensuring strict adherence to timelines.
• Work directly with on-site teams to ensure quality, safety, and compliance across all activities.
• Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders, including subcontractors, to ensure alignment and effective execution.
• Operate on-site or in the office at least 4 days a week, no travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive electrical systems installations, ensuring quality and efficiency in all MEP scopes.
• Conduct regular site visits, overseeing progress, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring adherence to design.
• Work closely with estimators, procurement teams, and subcontractors to secure competitive bids and manage resources.
• Regularly evaluate project budgets, flagging any variances and implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Maintain continuous client and stakeholder communication, providing updates on project status and key milestones.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in project management with an emphasis on electrical systems within data centers.
• 7+ years dedicated to mission critical projects, including data center experience.
• Currently working with a general contractor, electrical contractor, or subcontractor.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience in high-stakes, large-scale projects.
• Deep understanding of electrical systems, construction best practices, and Sterling area building codes.
