Project Engineering Consultant
This position will be an on-site role reporting directly to the Site Engineering for Corpus Christi.
The Project Manager supports the business for end to end capital project implementation and project results that achieve business objectives, while complying with standard work practices as defined by the Client Project System. The Project Manager works with management, technology, maintenance, and operations to bring maximum value to the business through effective leadership of cost and capital project planning and implementation process.

The Project Manager supports the business for end to end capital project implementation and project results that achieve business objectives, while complying with standard work practices as defined by the Client Project System. The Project Manager works with management, technology, maintenance, and operations to bring maximum value to the business through effective leadership of cost and capital project planning and implementation process.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Translating business objectives into the capital project objectives.
- Ensures all noncapital alternatives to meet the business objectives have been evaluated.
- Is accountable to the business for project success.
- Is responsible through the Project Team members for acquiring and releasing project resources as needed during the life of the project.
- Establishes effective communications within the Project Team to ensure alignment among business objectives, project objectives, and the Production Design Basis.
- Understands the roles, responsibilities, and contribution of functional members of the Project Team and empower them to do their jobs.
- Leads the development of the roles and responsibilities definitions for the project and ensure each functional team member understands their role and deliverables.
- Manages overall project expenditures and schedule to meet business expectations.
- Clearly sets overall Project Team direction and expectations
- Is accountable for total project cost and investment.
- Provides primary interface between the Project Team and the Business Unit Steering Team.
- Drives capital project work processes and practices as described in the company's procedures
- Ensures basic data is timely and complete prior to initiating detailed design.
- Leads all gatekeeping reviews and ensures all Front-end (FEL) deliverables are met.
- Prepares all project-funding documents.
- Ensures commissioning and turnover plans are prepared.
- Ensures operations and maintenance procedures are prepared.
- Leads development and validation of project economics.
- Collaborate with Construction Leaders, to facilitate the overall process and address design issues that impede construction performance.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- BS degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
- 7 plus years of engineering project management experience
- Self-managing, proactive
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Experience working on-site in an industrial setting.
- Experience working in the chemicals industry
- Experience working in a Phase-Gate Project System
