ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/DETAILS:
The manager said the candidates need to have Transmission and Distribution (T&D) experience, due to the nature of the work.
An electrical engineer is also highly preferred but not required if they have the T&D experience.

1. Work location: NYPA HQ White Plains office - 123 Main St, White Plains, NY 10601
2. Work schedule: 3 days in the office and two days remote.
3. Monthly site visit to The Niagara Power Project in Lewiston, NY.
PROJECT ENGINEER
Project Engineer Requirements:
a. Experienced in project engineering services and delivering complex projects to meet schedule and budget requirements.
b. Knowledgeable in the following:
- a. Substation design
- b. Electrical, civil/structural, and P&C design and standards
- c. Construction methods
- d. Permitting requirements
- e. Project management processes and practices
c. Able to manage portfolio of projects in various stages of planning, design, construction and closeout.
d. Clear communication with internal and external stakeholders with a high level of professionalism.
Project Engineer Tasks:
a. Project Meetings
- i. Lead meetings; prepare and distribute minutes
b. Reporting
- i. Provide weekly and as needed project updates
- ii. Consistent and frequent communication with project manager
c. Project Schedule and Budget
- i. Provide monthly updates to project schedulers and cost analysts
- ii. Develop project resource plans and monitor progress through project.
- iii. Lead schedule and budget development
- iv. Participate in NYPA budget process
d. Document Control
- i. Update project documents
- ii. Maintain organized file structures.
e. Contract Management
- i. Maintain pay requisitions.
- ii. Review contractor invoices and documentation for accuracy
- iii. Coordinate submittal and RFI review and response within NYPA departments
- iv. Enforce contract terms and conditions throughout duration of project
f. Change Management
- i. Negotiate contractor change order requests
- ii. Develop change request documentation
g. Quality Assurance
- i. Review quality of deliverables
- ii. Monitor vendor performance
h. Risk Management
- i. Identify project risks and mitigation approaches
- ii. Maintain risk register
i. Procurement
- i. Technical bid evaluation
j. Outage Planning
- i. Identify outage needs based on project schedule
- ii. Coordinate outage and clearance requests in real-time and long range planning
k. Project Closeout
- i. Assemble turnover documentation from vendors, contractors and NYPA
