Job Summary:
- Seeking a skilled Project Engineer to provide technical and administrative leadership in various business areas, including Assets Management, Capital Management, and Change & Improvement of Manufacturing Technology and Facilities/Utilities. In this role, you will support the VP of Manufacturing and Engineering and the Director of Engineering, ensuring successful project planning, execution, and communication.
Job Duties:
- Support site start-up team and troubleshoot issues, collaborating with vendor technicians when necessary.
- Assist in developing Engineering Check-out, Equipment Acceptance Testing, Start-up/Validation documents.
- Develop and maintain project plans, coordinate project activities, and track critical path milestones.
- Ensure effective end-to-end project planning, risk identification, dependency tracking, issues identification/escalation, and change management using best practice project management standards.
- Build relationships with senior leaders and program/project owners, preparing materials for and presenting to Senior Management.
- Gather and provide management with necessary information and metrics, including data extraction, comparison, analysis, and maintenance.
- Work flexible hours, manage changing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop project scopes and detailed project plans.
- Manage schedules, costs, and other key deliverables per the approved project plan.
- Identify, assess, and communicate project risks.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues to management in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for project execution.
- Coordinate project-initiated training.
- Effectively facilitate project team meetings.
- Ensure forms and records to document project activities are maintained in a project management software database.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders on the progress of each project.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of project engineering experience within food manufacturing.
- Effective leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- BS in Engineering required, Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
- CAD software experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented with proven time management skills while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- SQF knowledge/experience a plus.
- Must have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
