Traveling Project Engineer
Our client seeking a Traveling Project Engineer to join a growing team based in Houston, TX. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale civil construction projects, specializing in site infrastructure, underground, and road work.
Location: Houston, TX (Greenspoint area)
Reason for Hire: Growth due to new projects
Salary: Up to $130K with full benefits (details on per diem and housing pending)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM or 7 AM–4 PM (flexible), weekends as needed
Travel: 70–90% required
Responsibilities:
- Assist with project planning and execution under the guidance of the Project Manager.
- Review and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and perform vendor/subcontractor solicitations.
- Observe project site progress and communicate updates with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and field personnel.
- Prepare submittals for construction agencies as required.
- Review and analyze job cost information to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies.
- Generate billing quantities based on field data and contractual requirements.
- Promote and adhere to a strong safety culture, ensuring safe practices on-site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of project engineering experience, including familiarity with HCSS Viewpoint.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Stability in previous roles (minimum of 4 years in prior positions preferred).
- Willingness to travel extensively for project needs (70–90%).
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe, and HCSS systems.
