Summary of the Role:
As a Project Engineer at Kemp Bros Construction, you will be an integral part of the project management team, responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the construction project are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to coordinate the day-to-day operations on-site, manage project documentation, and facilitate communication between all stakeholders. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about contributing to the successful delivery of complex construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage and maintain all project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project logs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure safety compliance, and address any concerns that may impact the project timeline or quality.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing and presenting meeting notes, project reports, including cost analysis, progress updates, and risk assessments.
- Assist in the review and interpretation of construction drawings and specifications, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with project requirements.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on engineering tasks, identifying potential risks, and proposing solutions to challenges.
- Foster a positive working relationship with all project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in construction project engineering, preferably with a focus on public sector projects.
- Proficiency in construction management software, such as Procore, Bluebeam, BIM, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality in all work performed.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.
- Ability to interpret and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project conditions and requirements.
