Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Engineer/Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and practices, with experience in system design and construction estimating. This role involves working on various projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with other professionals to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop estimates for heavy-civil earthmoving projects, including heap leach pads, site infrastructure development, waste disposal cells, tailings dams, railway corridors, diversion drainage channels, etc.
- Manage construction and implementation of projects upon contract award.
- Collaborate with other engineers, operations personnel, and project supervisors to ensure project specifications are met.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mining or civil engineering, construction management, or another engineering or technical field from an accredited university
- Five (5) years related experience
- Proficiency in engineering software including CAD design, GIS, or mine planning software.
- Expert in use of MS Excel, MS Project, and other project management tools.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet all required deadlines.
- A good understanding of safety and the environment and the desire to follow all established procedures are required.
- Displays sound judgment when deciding among multiple alternatives
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on multiple projects in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills and communication with peers, management, and clients
- Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within the Company and with customers
- Ability to lift 70 lbs., safely climb ladders, and regularly walk on uneven ground
