The Project Engineer, Project Management is accountable for supporting Project Managers leading end to end capital projects, aiding by leading small parts of the main project (subprojects) according to Project Delivery methodologies and under the supervision of the Project Managers. Applying Flawless Project Execution, the IDEA Project Delivery Process - under the guidance on the Project Manager. This role is responsible for contributing to projects as they progress throughout the project helping to expedite key activities across function, find solutions to key problems, and communicate project progress, issues and solutions to management and to the project team under the supervision of the leading Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manages/ assists in the completion of specific activities on Projects at appropriate stages of Ideation, Design, Execution and Assessment assisting in deployment of the IDEA Project Delivery Process.
- Assists in collaborating across other functional areas with Business Partners.
- Assists the Project Lead in aligning Key Partners, Core and Extended team to deliver the Final Project Objectives.
- Facilitates the Project Lead to achieve project planning, tracking and reporting against project Key Deliverables and Final Project Objectives as applicable.
- Understands Key Performance Indicators and assists Project Leader to identify areas for improvement.
- Develops full understanding of the project intake process, solutioning and how projects should meet the Business Need, Prepares for Stage Gates, and the development of the selected option for CAR approval.
- Aids in the coordination of the design, execution and close out of all project related activities including managing internal resources and the procurement of third party contractors, suppliers and consultants and tracks the project to plan against Final Project Objectives including, but not limited to safety, scope management, contract and construction management, legal and corporate compliance, quality, project controls, commissioning, qualification and validation of FDA and other agencies regulated facilities including technology transfer and regulations governing product manufacturing through operational handover under the mentorship and direction of the Project Leader.
- Assists in managing changes and requests for changes with Sponsor, Core and Extended teams with the Project Lead.
- Assists in Project Close Out activities including operational handover archiving, and financial project close and collation of benchmarking and Lessons Learned and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement via lessons collection and lessons adoption all under the direction of the Project Lead.
- Identifies in conjunction with their Manager/ Supervisor Learning and Development opportunities to enable progression towards Highly Capable Leadership.
- A minimum of a Bachelor Degree of Science in Engineering is required. Master's Degree preferred.
Required:
- Previous Project Management experience and/or Coop/Internship equivalent experience will be considered.
- Ability to lead and motivate remote and dispersed teams and partners
- Good listening and problem-solving skills working with cross functional teams.
- Prior experience in giving support to project managers in capital projects by leading small parts of the main capital project (subprojects) under the supervision of the project manager.
- Good knowledge of Project Controls in cost and schedule development, financial assessments and managing of budget and schedule.
- Experienced in collaborating with Real Estate, Finance and Facilities Management
- Understands business needs and can translate these to engineering concepts.
- Knowledge of J&J Flawless Project Execution (FPX) Principles and processes
- This position may require up to a 50% of domestic travel.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint required
- Project Management Professional (PMP), FPX or equivalent preferred
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
