About the Job
Where would you step in?
As a Plumbing Project Engineer, you'll be preparing plumbing and fire protection floor plans, riser diagrams, isometric views, and schedules that detail device layouts, fixtures, and equipment. You could sit in our Westwood, Woburn, or Worcester, Massachusetts offices. We offer a hybrid work environment and flexible Fridays in the summer.
Our Building Services Team and Projects
Our MEP solutions prioritize building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. While our work might not be immediately visible in the finished product, it ensures seamless operation for our clients' buildings. Our MEP engineers are part of a multidisciplinary design team.
What will you be doing?
You'll coordinate and prepare schematic designs, design development, and construction documents, including technical specifications. Your responsibilities will also include assisting with spatial coordination among architecture and other engineering disciplines, providing quality control and peer review, and managing master specifications. You'll perform field verifications, meet with clients and vendors, respond to RFIs, solve installation issues, and oversee deliverables. Additionally, you'll mentor junior designers, assist in technology upgrades, and participate in project decisions regarding technical design and scheduling.
What do you need?
You should have significant experience with proven proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, specifically in designing domestic and sanitary plumbing systems, and fire protection systems for industrial, institutional, higher education, laboratory, and healthcare facilities. You must possess a broad understanding of technical skills required for developing engineering drawings and specifications in these areas. You should have thorough knowledge of Massachusetts and Connecticut plumbing codes, model codes, IBC, and NFPA, and working experience with FGI guidelines for hospitals and outpatient facilities is desired. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are required, and a Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) or Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
