Schedule: 4/9's - field work can vary up to 7-12/s as work is cyclical.

Project Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Project Engineer within our West Gulf Coast PROS (Project Resources and Outage Support) team located in Pasadena, TX.
We are seeking a Project Engineer within our West Gulf Coast PROS (Project Resources and Outage Support) team located in Pasadena, TX.
This position requires up to 30% domestic travel.
This role reports to the Regional Project Lead.
The essential functions of this role include:
* Lead assigned capital projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and manage all engineering, design, and construction resources in West Gulf Coast Region
* Develop estimates, funding request documents, schedule, and ongoing forecasts for plant executed projects
* Ensure all projects receive adequate hazard and safety reviews and that all recommendations are completed in a timely manner
* Ensure inherent process safety is adhered to on all project designs
* Provide field supervision / support during project execution
* Manage Project Safety
* Maintain projects on budget and schedule
* Ensure all projects meet the operability needs of the customer
* Gain a basic understanding of the operating plant environment, process and equipment
* Understand quality standards as outlined by client.

* Capital Project, Plant Operations or Maintenance experience (5-8 years minimum)
* Strong organizational, planning and communication skills
* Strong leadership abilities
* Self-motivated and willingness to learn
* High ethical standards
* Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines
* Familiarity with the HAZOP work process
* Ability to work within and promote a teamwork philosophy
* Makes good use of time, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
* Works professionally and harmoniously with co-workers, supervisors, management, support personnel, program participants and business area persons
* Utilizes positive and constructive attitude toward resolution of problems and conflicts
* Accepts direction, constructive feedback and supervision
Education and Licensing Requirements:
* MUST HAVE a - Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Work Hours & Benefits:
Typical work week is 40 hours. (Longer hours are required during project or outage execution which may also require working some weekends.)
Travel may be required to different regions in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
The work environment is diverse from an office setting to onsite at operating facilities to visiting contractor shops.
The ability to walk around a plant, supervise contractors, climb stairs and ladders is required.
Project Engineers in this role are responsible for all aspects of a project from scoping, estimating, design, funding requests through execution and handover to the operational facility.
The successful candidate will gain exposure and experience in a wide variety of projects at several operational facilities.
This positions the candidate for success for a variety of roles through the progression of their career.
