Job Details
- Assessing customer specifications to ensure compliance and suitability for aerospace components.
- Managing engineering programs, including the preparation of technical proposals, schedules, and resource estimates.
- Overseeing the entire project lifecycle from conceptual design to initial manufacturing phases.
- Providing technical support and responding to customer inquiries.
- Utilizing Product Development Processes and Project Management structures for product development.
- Conducting technical presentations and reviews to ensure adherence to engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders including engineers, designers, production personnel, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure project success.
- Evaluating design changes, specifications, and releases while controlling project expenditures.
- Generating project reports and maintaining project documentation.
- Conducting weight, stress, and performance analysis of products.
- Participating in failure analysis and recommending corrective actions.
- Creating and reviewing technical drawings and documentation.
- Adhering to aerospace industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in an aerospace design and manufacturing environment.
- Experience as a technical lead overseeing projects from proposal to production release.
- Proficiency in coordinating with various departments such as Engineering, Test, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customer Relations.
- Experience in extracting performance requirements from customer specifications.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including FAA regulations and AS9100 quality management systems.
- Knowledge of qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810 and DO-160.
- Ability to read blueprints, conduct GD&T, and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Familiarity with machining practices and Solidworks or similar CAD software.
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Enovia, TeamCenter, or Windchill.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic components.
- Basic understanding of stress analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
