We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing construction projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in high-profile construction projects and to work with a dedicated team of professionals.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the planning and design of construction projects.
2. Review and interpret project blueprints, plans, and specifications.
3. Prepare, review, and approve project submittals.
4. Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and manage change orders.
5. Coordinate and supervise construction activities on site.
6. Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
7. Direct and oversee the activities of contractors and subcontractors.
8. Prepare and present project data and progress reports to clients, team members, and stakeholders.
9. Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure project success.
10. Conduct quality control checks, identifying any potential issues and then working to find solutions.
11. Oversee the review of product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within the heavy civil construction industry.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and construction plans.
4. In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
5. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
6. Excellent knowledge and experience with change orders, submittals, RFI, and shop drawings.
7. Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction management software.
8. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
9. Superior organizational and time management skills.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
