Job DescriptionSummary
Engineer will be involved in evaluating and testing medical electrical devices according to regulatory standards.
Job Functions
- Evaluation and testing of medical electrical devices to current standards (IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-2-x) and implement new standards as needed. Work with clients to set up customer-specific test plans and modify as needed.
- Assessing quality management systems according to ISO 13485 and performing risk assessments according to ISO 14971.
- Assists with compliance test setup and troubleshooting
- Coordinate with laboratory technicians and/or assistants on sample receiving, logging, pretreatment, preparation, testing and other tasks.
- Routine operation, maintenance, calibration, qualification, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience (Required)
- 3+ years of testing and certification experience in the testing and certification industry. (Recommended)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Language Skills: Advanced English (Required)
- Mathematical Skills: Intermediate (Required)
- Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Intermediate (Required)
- Great communication skills, with ability to interact with customers both written and verbal (Required)
- Familiar with operation of lab equipment including power supplies, signal generators and spectrum analyzers (Preferred)
- Capable of soldering and rework electronics and assemblies, capable of assembling systems and subsystems (Preferred)
- Good technical/mechanical skills/aptitude (Required)
- Work independently and with limited supervision (Required)
Computer Skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)
