About the Job
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing the entire project life cycle, from concept through implementation and close out while being responsible for project deliverables, budgetary management and timeline adherence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop drawings, scopes of work, budgets and timelines as needed to prepare a project for submittal
Source, negotiate and acquire quotes for budgetary needs
Manage project budget tracking
Coordinate project review meetings to include setting them up, keeping meeting notes, and reporting out results to key stakeholders
Work cross-functionally to ensure projects meet the needs of all key stakeholders to include but not be limited to Quality, Food Safety, Planning, Operations, T & W and Maintenance
Manage purchase orders related to capital projects
Assign and oversee projects that are delegated to either Project Engineers or Maintenance Managers to implement
Practice proper Project Management Practices and the sharing of best practices across the organization
Communicate effectively up and down the organization.
Travel to project sites on a regular basis to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and deliverables
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests as required to validate equipment purchases
Assist in the development of the annual capital budget
Provide weekly reporting of all projects under your control
Partner with Finance as needed to assist in business case development for all projects
Required Competencies & Knowledge:
AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite of products to include Project, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and Visio
