Engineering Cost Modeler - Advanced Programs
Are you an experienced cost modeler, capable of working with Engineering & Technology, Finance & Business Operations, Strategy & Business Development, Program/Proposal Management, and external customers? Do you enjoy bringing together data from different sources to be used in a standard work breakdown structure? Are you comfortable evolving models as new data becomes available? Are you ready to leverage your financial, technical, & people knowledge to develop models to inform engineering design decisions? If so, an Engineering Cost Modeler role may be the right fit for you!
This position requires experience developing complex cost models using advanced cost estimating techniques as well as excellent interpersonal skills required to solicit input, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of technical and programmatic leadership.
The role may include working on affordability analyses, life cycle cost developments, cost data analytics, forecasting cost and schedule, data collection and normalization, and design-to-cost. The candidate selected will be asked to analyze multiple data sets to build engineering models, synthesize results, perform decision analysis, and communicate findings with engineering colleagues and internal decision makers.

- Worker will Telework < 50%.
MANDATORY:
- Bachelor's in Data Science, Math, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field. (with 5-10 years work experience in technical field).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with an executive audience experienced in Data Visualization.
- 1-2 years Experience with Python, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), MS SQL, and/or Tableau.
- Knowledge of data management systems and/or data science.
- 1-2 years Parametric Estimating / TruePlanning experience.
- 1-2 Experience working with cost models, predictive analytics, or decision analysis.
DESIRED:
- Engineering with MBA or related advanced degree.
- Strong team collaboration and leadership skills.
- Manufacturing materials & processes familiarity.
- Organized & detail-oriented with ability to balance multiple tasks at once.
- Comfortable navigating technical and cost data.
- High degree of accountability and responsibility with the ability to be a self-starter and problem solver.
- Experience with one or more of the following: cost model development, data analytics, engineering related to the Defense industry, and/or finance.
- Knowledge of financial systems, analysis, statistics, etc.
- Familiarity with proposal development and/or the government acquisition process.
