Job Details:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Project Engineer to join our dynamic construction team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects, primarily focusing on water, sewer and paving infrastructure. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and a solid understanding of the construction industry. You will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific construction projects from beginning to end.
2. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors to ensure standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules and safety are maintained.
3. Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
4. Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
5. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, and cost tracking reports.
6. Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
7. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
8. Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
9. Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, and other professional staff.
10. Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
11. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in a project engineering role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proven experience with water, sewer, and paving projects.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
6. Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures.
7. Extensive experience managing budgets for construction projects.
8. Strong knowledge of construction project management software.
9. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
10. Exceptional leadership abilities with a team-focused attitude.
11. Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
12. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
13. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
14. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
15. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
