Job Title: Construction Project Engineer – External Water Main Replacement
Location: Waukegan, IL 60087 onsite
Duration: 6 Months (Hybrid Work Model) - onsite 4 days a week
Pay Rate: 60.00 - 80.00 per hour
I am looking for a Project Engineer with external construction project experience, managing project timelines, deliverables and project scope. In this role you will oversee all states of the project life-cycle, manage the project scope, and project status, work with the contractors and external vendors.
This is a replacement of three freshwater line breaks outside of the plant, including pipe replacement and related design work. This project involves utility coordination, working with the contractors, making sure the work follows industry standards, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure timely completion within a 6-month period.
The ideal candidate will oversee projects from bidding to execution. Looking for a collaborative problem solver that is an adaptable team player and with be focused on managing contractors and requests for quotes. You will work with senior management and act as the point of contact for clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project engineering or project management.
- Proven expertise in external piping systems (carbon steel, PVC) and utility projects.
- Familiarity with industry standards and involvement with Gross Building Area evaluation is a plus.
- Proficient in schedule development, cost estimation, and project coordination.
- Experience working with site engineers, technicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Hybrid work model flexibility; ability to be onsite as required.
- Pharma project experience is not necessary.
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Industry knowledge and ability to read blueprints
- Detail-oriented and strong communication skills
