Zadok Construction Inc is seeking a sharp, tech-savvy Project Engineer / Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This hands-on role involves supporting superintendents and project managers in managing commercial construction projects from start to finish. Key Responsibilities
- Project Support and Coordination
- Assist superintendents and project managers with planning, coordination, and seamless execution of construction tasks.
- Manage project information, paperwork, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Create and maintain project schedules, track progress, and ensure milestone completion.
- Oversee on-site operations, monitor subcontractor performance, and address challenges proactively.
- Communication and Administration
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Make phone calls to confirm schedules, track materials and submittals, and follow up to maintain project momentum.
- Assist with Request for Information (RFI) submissions, change orders, and progress reports.
- Lead by example in maintaining a professional demeanor and fostering teamwork on-site.
- Technical and On-Site Duties
- Support quality control procedures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy.
- Handle hands-on tasks, including punch lists, as necessary, to resolve on-site issues.
- Utilize technology to streamline operations and stay organized, including project management software.
- Problem-Solving and Leadership
- Understand the full A-Z building process, avoid shortcuts, and find correct solutions to challenges.
- Maintain a proactive attitude, taking initiative to ensure projects meet and exceed expectations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, commercial projects, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction/project management software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications.
- Tech-savvy with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Willingness to work on-site in job trailers and collaborate closely with the field team.
