Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Project Engineer to join our expanding team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and technical aspects of our construction projects to assure the highest level of accuracy and quality. You will be working on a wide variety of projects, including underground utilities and civil engineering projects. You will also play a pivotal role in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. This position requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all technical and engineering aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
2. Utilize your expertise in cost control to manage project expenses effectively, ensuring the project stays within the allocated budget.
3. Prepare, review, and update project schedules, plans, and specifications.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and project managers, to ensure the project's success.
5. Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
6. Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
7. Use your understanding of civil engineering principles to ensure that all projects are structurally sound and built to last.
8. Manage and oversee underground utility construction projects, ensuring they are carried out according to plan and meet all necessary safety and quality standards.
9. Prepare and present project updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
3. Proven experience in cost control and managing budgets in a construction setting.
4. In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction project management.
5. Familiarity with underground utility construction projects.
6. Exceptional leadership and project management skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
8. Proficient in using project management software and other relevant computer applications.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make effective decisions under pressure.
10. A valid professional engineer’s license would be a plus.
11. A commitment to safety and quality, with a proactive approach to identifying and managing potential risks.
