Our client is currently seeking a Project Engineer.
Summary:
- We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer that is interested in pursing a career with heavy industrial equipment.
- This position is responsible for technical assistance to the Project Manager for capital projects.
- The Project Engineer will coordinate the efforts of both the project execution team and engineering from the initial sale until customer acceptance of the equipment performance.
- Each project will progress through four distinct phases and require specific job duties:
- Set up project filing system.
- Prepare project schedule and drawing list.
- Prepare project specifications including engineering, design, manufacturing, painting, and
- shipping
- Release general layout and foundation plan for approval and follow-up with client.
- Prepare invoicing to client.
- Prepare base bill of materials.
- Communicate with client on daily questions
- Assure timely completion of engineering documents and drawings
- Create / monitor component lists necessary to support bid packages
- Prepare bid packages / specifications for sub-suppliers
- Negotiate sub-contracts / vendor purchase orders
- Monitor sub-contract / vendor invoicing and process payment
- Expedite manufacturing schedule
- Coordinate QA/QC plan with engineers
- Coordinate logistics of equipment transportation
- Construct Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manuals
- Coordinate document submittals
- Schedule equipment deliveries
- Track contractual scope changes
- Respond to erection service requirements such as engineering errors and omissions, field modifications
- Respond to commissioning mechanical and controls service requirements
- Ensure performance guarantees are obtained
- Obtain client retainage payment
- Assist Project Manager with warranty issues
- Assist Project Manager with liquidated damages and/or back charge claims
- Mark-up as-built drawings
- Review lessons learned with the project team
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience in engineering with knowledge of heavy industrial equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical components, steel fabrication, and AISC painting requirements.
- 3D CAD experience
- Strong communication skills
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
Pay Rate:
- $30 36/hr, dependent on experience
