We are looking for a Project Director to join our team in Pomona, CA.
The Project Director will have overall responsibility for the safety, quality, overall performance, risk management, and customer relationship of a strategic EPC transmission line project. Anticipated annual business is $120 - $150 million with 6-8 direct reports. The Project Director position reports to the Vice President of Major Projects.
Responsibilities:Provide senior leadership and strategic direction to the project team demonstrating vision, experience, and maturity.
- Cultivate customer relationships to successfully deliver this project.
- Adopt a partnership approach with the customer to manage challenges and opportunities.
- Proactively mentor employees for personal, career and company growth.
- Assist the Vice President of Major Projects with the development of strategic direction H&M West Power Operations.
- Lead a project team to prepare change order submittals.
- Participate in change order negotiations with the customer.
- Review customer submittals and correspondence.
- Oversee detailed contractual review to manage risks in scope, terms, and conditions.
- Lead the coordination of project subcontractors at the management level.
Manage the day-to-day communications and responsibilities representing professionally H&M West with the customer.
- Take ownership of QA plans, including formal auditing processes such as project pre-plans, project plans and post job reviews.
- Host regular meetings with project team to communicate goals and performance.
- Measure and monitor the progress of project work toward meeting all stated goals, safety, quality & P&L.
- Provide monthly financial forecasts.
- Where appropriate, assure delivery of project deliverables, negotiate change orders, and invoicing issues.
- Participate in the claims management process with the Claims Manager and Safety Manager.
- +10 years or more in the power/ electric business with management and leadership experience
- Prior experience with managing transmission line projects (preferred).
- Must be able to accurately process written documentation, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized, and able to interface with personnel at all levels.
- The Project Director is required to travel to customer and project locations.
Education:
- Minimum 4-year college degree or industry related courses and certifications. Construction Management, Contracts Management and / or Project Management training preferred.
Salary Wage: Min - $146,100, Mid - $190K, Max - $233,800 BOE
