Position Overview:
The Office Move / Office Buildout Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of office relocation and buildout projects for Thrive. These projects will typically involve office space transformation, from moving teams to new locations to managing the design and construction of new office environments. This role requires a project manager capable of handling complex, high-stakes office transitions, which often involve multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and coordination with various vendors and contractors. The Office Move / Office Buildout Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders throughout the duration of the project. They will drive the project to success by ensuring clear communication, setting expectations, managing tasks, and providing consistent status updates. They will also oversee the coordination of Thrive’s internal resources, including facilities teams, contractors, architects, and designers, using project management software, checklists, and reports to track progress and address challenges. The ideal candidate should have strong project management skills, with experience in managing office relocations, buildouts, or construction projects. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities are essential for building trust with stakeholders, ensuring smooth project execution, and meeting deadlines. The candidate must be able to motivate teams, manage change, and lead decision-making to ensure the timely and successful completion of office projects.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Investigate customer project needs by collaborating with sales, account managers, and consultants to understand project success criteria and technical requirements.
Perform project plan design to meet the critical path and customer timeframes; employ project charters, RAID Logs, and business requirement documents.
Lead the project by assigning tasks to Engineers and communicating statuses to customers through status update meetings.
Keep project resources on task, maintain project plan data, and drive projects to completion.
Effectively communicate with client technical and non-technical staff by creating digestible project plans that organize tasks into appropriate phases.
Forecast and activate monthly recurring revenue and other KPIs.
For client relocation projects, work with outside 3rd party vendors as needed to provide and\or collect IT requirements:
Structure Cabling companies
Internet Service Providers (ISP)
Market Data services
Audio Visual
Physical Security \ Door Access Control Systems \ Security Cameras
Electrician
Furniture
General Contractor
Architect
Phones – Hosted VoIP or On-premise
Prepare detailed IT design drawings, heat loads, power loads, and other supporting documents to facilitate construction build out.
Gather information relating to client's IT environment, space buildout, and relocation requirements. Follow-up on any discrepancies or missing information with client and other stakeholders for accuracy and completeness.
Conduct virtual site surveys with remote onsite hands to evaluate scope of work required and new office readiness for relocations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced experience (5 years) in project management and professional services.
Ability to lead a program of projects by organizing and presenting appropriate levels of project information to a variety of audiences.
Ability to be a leader of a cross functional project team, as the delivery lead is ultimately accountable for project success.
Experience implementing managed services and information technology solutions.
Skilled in managing project plans, writing project artifacts, and documenting customer workflows.
Solid understanding of cloud computing, networking, cyber security, and disaster recovery concepts.
Technical understanding of Thrive approved technologies included but not limited to:
Office 365
Cyber Security Services
Private Cloud
Public Cloud (Azure)
Networking (Firewalls, Switching, Access Points)
Disaster Recovery
Backup technology
Broad knowledge of AV, Security and ISP solutions. Hands-on technical implementation knowledge is not required however a sufficient understanding in order to effectively coordinate the onboarding and delivery of the aforementioned technologies is helpful.
Strong knowledge of structured cabling design and its installation/delivery (copper, fiber optic, coax).
Expansive knowledge of IT systems planning as it relates to office relocations (networks, data rooms, servers, data storage (SAN\NAS\DAS), end-user workstations, printers, Cloud platforms, etc.)
Ability to conceptualize IT Room \ IT Rack layouts as well as physical PC setups in order to design and plan for their installations.
Reading efficiency of architectural, electrical, and mechanical construction drawings (i.e., blueprints)
It would be great if you also have:
Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, Prince etc.)
Experience using ServiceNow (or other project management software)
Experience in ITIL methodology and change management processes
Willingness to improve team process and contribute to team and company initiatives
