As a Project Coordinator at Smith & Sell Construction, you'll oversee the smooth flow of multiple projects from start to finish. Each day, you'll work closely with the Project Manager to organize schedules, track milestones, and ensure resources are on hand, all while keeping clients informed and engaged.
Your role includes morning check-ins with clients, maintaining project documentation, and updating progress in our project management system. You'll coordinate with field teams, monitor key milestones, arrange inspections, and support procurement to keep projects running smoothly. Each day ends with a client update and preparation for the next day, making you essential to project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Managers to create and maintain project schedules, ensuring each task is completed on time.
- Regularly update clients on project status, address concerns, and keep them engaged throughout the construction process.
- Serve as a bridge between clients, office staff, and field teams, ensuring consistent and accurate communication.
- Maintain and update project documents, including schedules, budgets, materials, and progress reports. Keep Buildertrend updated with logs, images, and notes.
- Monitor project milestones and deadlines, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
- Schedule inspections and ensure all work complies with local building codes and regulations.
- Track materials, arrange timely deliveries to job sites, and handle any logistics issues to keep the team focused on construction.
- Quickly address and resolve any project conflicts with the Project Manager and field workers to keep everything on track.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred, or equivalent experience (open to discussion).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a project coordination role, ideally in construction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to project support.
- Proficiency in project management software (experience with Buildertrend or CoConstruct is a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at keeping clients and teams aligned.
- Flexible and collaborative, with the ability to work remotely and conduct occasional site visits as needed.
