Overview
The Project Coordinator is responsible for various project support tasks, including flight planning, equipment and sensor tracking, project logistics, on call duties, and field support. When deployed in the field, the Project Coordinator will work closely in a collaborative team environment with a captain in small aircraft/helicopters while flying acquisition missions. The position will be challenging both technically and professionally with the breadth of tasks inherent to the role.
Logistics:
- Location: This position will be based at the NV5 Hawthorne, CA office reporting to the Acquisition Management Team with primary hangar and survey locations in California
- Travel: Ability to travel for field work on short notice (50% of the time)

Responsibilities
- Develop efficient flight and logistical plans that meet or exceed project specification
- Work closely with pilots/survey crews in small aircraft/helicopters/vehicles while acquiring geospatial data
- Maintain project management software as it relates to acquisition efforts
- Create flight plans and develop project plans in support of estimating
- Act as a point of contact for field personnel
- Troubleshoot and install sensor systems with support
- Comply with all policies and procedures developed for safety and operations in dynamic environments
- Ensure safe and secure use of company vehicles, equipment, and instrumentation
- Ability to travel and perform Sensor Operator duties as needed
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Developing understanding of geospatial concepts and GPS survey methods and Interest in GIS and remote sensing
- Thorough understanding of aerial and terrestrial based sensor operations and capabilities
- Firm understanding of common sensor errors, interpretation of sensor log files and processes for sensor troubleshooting
- Comfortable flying in small aircraft for extensive periods of time across North America
Minimum Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license
- 2+ years of experience in remote sensing
- Experience with aerial survey and instrumentation
- Experience with databases and spreadsheets
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4-year degree from a physical/ biological/environmental science, engineering program or related field
- Aviation Background
- Field experience as an airborne sensor operator
- In-depth experience using various LIDAR sensors, cameras and other instruments
- Experience using both flight planning and post processing software packages
The pay range for this California position is $58,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
