Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Project Coordinator for our client in the construction industry. This role will focus on managing project budgets, cost tracking, and assisting in various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction-related project accounting, with a preference for candidates familiar with software such as Viewpoint Vista and systems used in the construction industry. The position is office-based in Charlotte, NC, offering an opportunity to join a well-regarded and growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of project accounting, including budget management, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Input and update project budgets, tracking approved change orders in a job cost database.
- Coordinate payment submissions, ensuring all construction draws are properly documented and suppliers are paid timely.
- Assist in accounts payable functions to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Reconcile job costs and handle retainage and collections for each project.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure financial information is up to date.
- Complete the monthly accounting close process in collaboration with the team.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements for all projects.
- Provide general project support and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of project accounting experience, ideally in the construction industry.
- Experience with lien waivers and AIA billing and contract processes is essential.
- Strong familiarity with construction-related financial software (Viewpoint Vista and/or Sage 300 preferred).
- Proficiency in Excel and job cost management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- A personable, quick learner with a willingness to take initiative.
Additional Details:
- Full-time, office-based position.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
