Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the development and implementation of project controls standards and procedures autonomously.
- Foster productive relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Facilitate meetings with project owners, client representatives, and other contractors as necessary.
- Execute tasks to establish and uphold project budgets, including restructuring budgets due to changes in methods and activities, as well as updating budgets for additional tasks.
- Input and oversee costs and progress, ensuring accuracy in timesheets, invoices, etc., and maintaining comprehensive tracking of quantities and production on a weekly basis. Analyze and communicate analysis results clearly to other project team members.
- Generate monthly and quarterly project forecasts based on in-depth knowledge of ongoing construction and input from other project team members.
- Prepare or review monthly billings to the owner and assist in preparing and negotiating cost proposals for additional work, including tracking Time & Material work.
- Serve as the interface and liaison with project management, owners, subcontractors, etc., regarding all planning and scheduling-related matters and functions. This includes making independent determinations regarding reporting requirements, progress status, new impacts, etc.
- Comprehend corporate planning and schedule standards and support managers in ensuring compliance with project-related activities.
- Uphold responsibility for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including strict adherence to company safety policies and programs. This includes the ability to independently halt work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation.
Qualifications:
- Around 4 years of extensive experience in heavy construction, encompassing client coordination, finance, scheduling, cost control, contract administration, and construction/engineering resolution.
- Experience with JD Edwards and Heavy Job is advantageous.
- Proficiency in computer skills and adaptability to new innovations and processes.
- Capability to coordinate and engage with client administrative personnel on a daily basis.
- Comprehensive understanding of the industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Effective teamwork skills.
- Dependability and discretion in maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Aptitude for understanding and following directions.
- Negotiation skills and the capacity to make sound decisions.
- Proficient in math and accounting.
- Experience working with self-perform labor components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Construction, or Engineering preferred, although experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
