Project Assistant - IT Infrastructure Business Analyst - University of Rochester

POSITION SUMMARY: The Enterprise Architecture team within University IT is looking to hire an undergraduate or graduate student with interest in working with team members over a ten-week period from June 5 through August 11, 2023. This internship will be focused on IT Project Management and Liaison. This is a temporary internship opportunity. **GENERAL PURPOSE:** This position is being offered as one of a number of positions being coordinated under the umbrella of the University IT Internship Program in the summer of 2023. As a result, while the emphasis will be on individual experiences based on a position description provided, the group will be organized as a starting cohort and meet approximately every two weeks. The emphasis of this cohort experience will be to expose all participants to multiple facets of the Information Technology environment at the University of Rochester. These sessions will combine presentation by IT professionals and group discussion to broaden the learning experience. All students will also be asked to prepare a poster session at the end of the program. This will provide program participants an opportunity to link classroom learning to the practicum, as well as formalize thoughts and service recommendations to the IT organization. **SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:** Under direction of the architects or project managers and with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative: 1. Using Clarity to help the team effectively manage architectural ideas, projects, and roadmaps 2. Assisting with the development of an intake process for cloud resource requests 3. Helping develop a RACI (and potentially SLAs/OLAs) to augment the Acceptable Use Agreement and Shared Responsibility Model 4. Helping develop the initial features for our Cloud Center of Excellence including: + Creating a charter to define the intended outcomes of the CCOE + Developing and beginning to execute a plan for how to better communicate and promote our cloud capabilities to our customers + Surveying our various users to facilitate enablement through training opportunities 1. Collaborating with other interns on their tasks **REQUIREMENTS:** 1. Pursuing (or completed) a Bachelor’s degree, and interest in Information Technology. 2. Strong oral, written, and team communication skills, effective questioning, listening, and analytical skills. 3. Strong communication skills. 4. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and proactively ask questions and seek clarification as necessary.
