POSITION SUMMARY:
Project Assistant will work under the direction of the Information Security Manager. The Information Security Metrics Specialist is responsible for assisting the Program Management team with collecting, analyzing, and reporting on information security data and metrics. The Analyst will use various tools and methods to measure the performance, effectiveness, and compliance of the information security program and controls.
NOTE: The timeframe for this role is June 3 rd – August 9 th, 2024
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Work under the guidance of the department Information Security and administration teams to assist with and/or actively lead activities pertaining to the assigned project including:
+ Participating in the development and maintenance of a catalog of information security metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives
+ Collecting and validating information security data from various sources, such as security tools, logs, surveys, audits, and assessments
+ Performing statistical and trend analysis on information security data and metrics
+ Generating information security reports and dashboards for various audiences, such as senior management, business units, and external stakeholders
+ Assisting with Identifying information security risks, gaps, and trends based on metrics and data analysis
+ Providing recommendations and feedback to enhance the information security program and controls
+ Collaborating with other information security teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency of metrics and reporting
+ Researching and benchmarking information security best practices and industry standards for metrics and reporting
Learn and utilize cybersecurity processes and tools to develop and maintain a catalog of Information Security metrics.
Track lessons learned throughout assignment for presentation to UIT leadership team.
Learn and demonstrate use of Microsoft Office toolset, SharePoint, and other project office collaboration tools.
Work closely with manager, establishing a goal plan with objectives to be completed by conclusion of assignment.

**REQUIREMENTS:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ Matriculated in an undergraduate studies program in IT, business administration, healthcare administration, engineering, or related field preferred.
+ 1+ year of work experience is preferred.
+ or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience required
+ No professional work experience is required.
+ Technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn new technology preferred.
+ Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing preferred.
+ Solution oriented with a positive attitude preferred.
+ Strong ability to prioritize. Strong attention to detail preferred.
+ Reliable and able to establish trust with your team.
+ No professional certification required. Must be able to travel to designated sites as assigned.

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $16.50 - $21.45 Hourly
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
