About Our Client:

Addison Group is seeking a talented Project Accountant for our client in the construction industry. With an increasing volume of government projects, this organization is looking to expand its accounting team.

Job Description:

As a Project Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and collaborating with project teams to maintain compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee job costing and project accounting functions.
• Process and analyze change orders, back charges, and related financial documentation.
• Generate and distribute monthly job cost reports to team members and stakeholders.
• Prepare close-out packages for completed projects.
• Manage accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and owner requisitions.
• Handle accounts payable, focusing on subcontractor and vendor payments.
• Provide training to project managers on using accounting software and reporting tools.
• Support annual audits and assist with various accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in a construction accounting environment.
• Familiarity with Sage 300 (Timberline) and Procore is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.

Additional Details:

• Full-time in-office position, 5 days a week (no hybrid options).
• Located in Rockville, MD (parking available).
• Work hours: 8 AM – 5 PM.
• No vaccination requirement.
