About Our Client:
Addison Group is seeking a talented Project Accountant for our client in the construction industry. With an increasing volume of government projects, this organization is looking to expand its accounting team.
Job Description:
As a Project Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and collaborating with project teams to maintain compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee job costing and project accounting functions.
- Process and analyze change orders, back charges, and related financial documentation.
- Generate and distribute monthly job cost reports to team members and stakeholders.
- Prepare close-out packages for completed projects.
- Manage accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and owner requisitions.
- Handle accounts payable, focusing on subcontractor and vendor payments.
- Provide training to project managers on using accounting software and reporting tools.
- Support annual audits and assist with various accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a construction accounting environment.
- Familiarity with Sage 300 (Timberline) and Procore is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
Additional Details:
- Full-time in-office position, 5 days a week (no hybrid options).
- Located in Rockville, MD (parking available).
- Work hours: 8 AM – 5 PM.
- No vaccination requirement.
