Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking a Project Accountant to join their their growing accounting team within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, ensuring the accurate management of financial aspects related to projects. This role is pivotal in supporting project managers and administrators to maintain seamless financial operations.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year
Location: North Haven, CT (Fully on-site)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Administrators and Project Managers to match subcontract progress invoices with corresponding Subcontracts and Purchase Orders, ensuring accurate and timely processing within the ERP system.
- Generate and analyze monthly job cost reports in partnership with the Project Management Team.
- Oversee the Job Closeout process and provide guidance to Project Managers as necessary.
- Organize and maintain both electronic and physical project files.
- Prepare and manage Waiver of Lien Release documentation.
- Request and track Tax Exemption documentation for Subcontractors as needed.
- Calculate and process monthly sales tax payments for taxable projects to the State of Connecticut.
- Manage Fixed Asset and Vehicle Capital Lease schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4-7 years of experience
- Construction industry experience required
- Knowledge of Spectrum ERP or any similar system experience highly preferred
