Project Accountant at Vaco, LLC

About the Job
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as first line of communication with the Owners, Project Managers and other staff and provide timely responses to questions and inquiries
- Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
- Review monthly Work-in-Progress reports for completeness, accuracy, and variations
- Review monthly Accounts Receivables for payment status and follow-up as necessary
- Work closely with Project Managers and perform detailed monthly job cost reviews
- Job setup (contract review, budget, schedule of values, billing templates, etc.) in Vista by Viewpoint/Procore
- Review bonding requirements per contract and order Payment/Performance bonds if required
- Send insurance requirements to insurance agency to obtain Certificate of Insurance
- Request job cost transfers
- Process subcontract and change order requests
- Produce and send monthly Owner billing packets for each job (including release of liens, vendor lien waivers, Customer-specific billing formats, AIA, etc.) Process vendor credit applications and request new vendor setups
- Monitor Pay Controls and requests changes to ensure that subcontractors and vendors are paid at the appropriate time according to their specific contract terms and conditions
- Process job closeouts
- Assist with special projects and other duties as requested by company management
Required Skills/Abilities
- Familiarity with integrated Job Costing and Construction Accounting
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively under stress, meet short deadlines, and take direction
- Strong communication skills to handle both internal and external personnel
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with a high attention to detail Education and Experience:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or relevant years of experience
- Proficiency at the intermediate level in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of project contracts and change order documents and familiarity with AIA documents
- Vista by Viewpoint Construction Software experience preferred, but not required
- Procore Software experience preferred, but not required
