Program Manager - Injection Molding and Tooling
- General Motors - GM Program experience, Injection Mold Tooling experience both required
- Troy, MI (Remote to start)
The Program Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and the main responsibilities are as below but not limited to:
- Plan, Organize & Assign all project related activates throughout the plant & to ensure project deliverables are tracked for on time completion to meet customer requirement.
- Prepare, publish & maintain overall project plan for New Projects and Engineering changes using Project Planning software.
- Update & maintain up to date Master Timing Chart
- Create, Maintain - APQP and communication folders.
- Monitor & follow up on Tasks associated with New Projects with Engineering, Sales,
- Production & Quality, to ensure all tasks are completed as assigned and they are on time.
- Chair weekly program APQP review meetings with engineering, sales, and Production to ensure APQP related tasks are completed on time; and required steps are taken to make sure any tasks that are slipping are brought back on track.
- Ensure open issue lists, valves are maintained by engineering and communicated internally and externally for timely action and closure. Help escalation process as required.
- Chair weekly PPAP Status review meeting with engineering, sales and Production to ensure PPAPs are submitted as promised and required steps are taken to make sure any PPAPs that are past due are completed promptly,
- Establish breakpoints with customer for new or engineering change parts as required,
- Ensure that key project related documentation is uploaded to corresponding APQP folders by Engineering, production, sales and Quality,
- Instruct Purchasing to Kick off Injection Tooling, GD&T fixtures, Assembly equipment, Polymer Suppliers, & Sub-Tiers (II, III) on a timely manner, & ensure that Tools & Equipment are built on time in order to meet customer deliverables such as M1, M2, PPV, Non-Saleable, Saleable & PPAP
- Ensure Prototype and PPQP timelines are met. Maintain initial PPQP requirement promise dates with PPO. Communicate and resolve any issues associated with PPO for new programs.
- Customer support in all aspects of new Product Development, design changes as well as problem resolution.
- Liaison with customers on project related matters and maintain correspondence. Attending and present customer's program review and valve review meetings.
- Obtain and review weekly progress report from Gauge, Tool and Assembly equipment makers,
- Coordinate Customized Packaging design for new products as required.
- Evaluate and Review external testing suppliers quotes and issue recommendation who should be selected to perform ADV testing,
- Maintain integrity of key business activities within the scope of TS 16949.
Qualifications, Experience, Education:
Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma or equivalent
3 years min experience as a Program Manager or 7 years' experience in Program Management Field
Experience in the Automotive Industry required with minimum of 3 years' experience within manufacturing areas of the automotive industry.
Understanding of injection molding and injection mold tools would be an asset.
