Job Description:
This role will serve KGS Edwards business in Americas in the capacity of PMO Lead. It establishes best project, program and portfolio management practices, processes and tools in line with KGS policies. Ideal candidate will have engineering background preferably in product development area and proficiency in Project Management. Good knowledge of engineering operations is desired including product development, sustaining and value engineering as well as technology development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with Eng Leader, Product Managers and Global PMO Leader to establish and continuously maintain the project portfolio.
- Ensure project execution in accordance with organizational standards and policies.
- PMO Leaders are key partners to the Engineering leadership team and the Product Management team, ensuring continuous prioritization of the project portfolio.
- Ensure standards and best practices are developed and leveraged.
- Establish standard methodologies, drive visibility, alignment, speed and efficiency in program execution.
- Manage overall budget planning and spend across the project portfolio.
- Responsible for developing and administrating Annual Operating Plan under Engineering Leadership.
- Establish reporting cadence to update on key performance metrics and portfolio execution.
- Coach and develop Project / Program managers in the core discipline.
- Able to deal comfortably with senior management and executives.
- Develops project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects and suggests appropriate adjustments to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget.
- Records and documents delay, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations.
- Pursues all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
- Performs critical path analysis and prepares and implements work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Conducts meetings, consolidates, and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s).
- Identifies and reacts to project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in Project Management preferably in engineered products.
- 1+ years of experience in managing Portfolio of engineering projects.
- Must be a US Citizen or a Green card holder
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and expertise in one or more of these software tools – MS Project or equivalent, Any mainstream PPM System.
- Expertise in O365 suite.
- PMP Certification.
- Related experience in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems.
- General understanding of end-to-end new product development cycle.
- Ability to learn and adapt to fast paced business and engineering environment.
