GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Center for Community Engagement fosters collaborative leadership between community partners, students, and other University stakeholders to discover transformative solutions and create equitable social change in the local community and beyond. We pursue our mission through a portfolio of programs and initiatives that span the enrollment cycle for undergraduate students in the College (Arts, Sciences, and Engineering), and that range from curricular to co-curricular in focus.
As a vital member of the staff of the Center for Community Engagement, the program manager coordinates programs that engage students with communities beyond campus. Depending on the circumstances and needs of the office, the position manages programs such as Learning and Exploring at Play (LEAP), Transition Opportunities at the University of Rochester (TOUR), the Rochester Youth Year fellowship, the Rochester Urban Fellows program, and others. The program manager advises and supervises students as needed to facilitate these programs, seeking to cultivate students’ leadership whenever possible. The program manager also manages community partnerships relevant to these programs to ensure shared ownership and mutual benefit, and that the programs are addressing community-identified needs. The program manager interacts with other key stakeholders, including faculty members, University staff, alumni, and funders. The program manager also contributes to Center-wide initiatives when necessary and serves as a vital member of the staff. The Program Manager reports to the associate director and is expected to coordinate closely with other staff to ensure efficient program operations and that programs complement other offerings in the Center
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**Program Management**
+ Manages recruitment and onboarding of undergraduates and/or recent graduates to participate in community engagement programs with an aim to complement their academic studies and foster personal and professional growth.
+ Coordinates training for program participants to ensure that they have the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to carry out programmatic responsibilities effectively and sensitive to the needs of disenfranchised community members.
+ Coordinates the involvement of faculty or other staff members in programming as needed for training or other purposes.
+ Manages reciprocal partnerships with community-based organizations to deliver projects that materially benefit the host organization, the community, as well as participating students or recent graduates.
+ Coordinates the delivery of programs to accomplish the intended outcomes, both for program participants and community partners. This will include event planning and management as well as coordination of program logistics, such as transportation, room reservations, and housing.
+ Manages programmatic budgets to ensure efficient use of University budgetary allocations and sponsored funds.
+ Promotes and publicizes programs to recruit students, community partners, and other collaborators as needed to ensure effective program delivery.
**Staff Supervision and Management**
+ Supervises graduate student employee(s) as appropriate to assist with programming.
+ Supervises undergraduate students as needed to ensure effective delivery of programming, ensuring compliance with university policies and relevant employment regulations.
**Program Evaluation, Improvement, and Planning**
+ Maintains detailed data collection and operational documentation for programs to facilitate assessment and sustainability.
+ Completes periodic reporting of program outcomes as needed for internal leadership and external funders.
+ Collects and analyzes assessment data, including assessment of training and programmatic outcomes for both program participants and community partners.
+ Utilizes assessment results to inform planning for programs, modifying them to improve program effectiveness as needed.
+ Identifies and communicates problems and areas for improvement, or where program participants, stakeholders, and resources are at risk.
+ Contributes to strategic planning for the Center as needed.
**Other duties as assigned**
+ Serves on ad hoc and standing committees within and beyond the Center.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor’s degree required
+ Master’s degree preferred
+ 2-4 years of related experience working with college undergraduate students and/or with community development programming and partnerships or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills required.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and familiarity with cloud-based communications and file-sharing platforms required.
+ The ability to work autonomously within a team of skilled professionals required.
+ Some evening and weekend hours required.

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $ 20.38 - $ 28.56 Hourly
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
