**Job Title:** Burners Without Borders (BWB) Program Manager
**Employment Type:** Full-Time
**Location:** Remote-flexible; preference given to candidates near operations in San Francisco, CA, or Reno, NV
**Compensation:** $80,000 to $95,000 per year, with benefits including dental, life, medical, paid time off, retirement, and vision.
**Job Summary:**
We're on the lookout for a passionate Burners Without Borders (BWB) Program Manager to steer the future trajectory of BWB initiatives. This role demands a comprehensive approach, blending leadership prowess with community stewardship.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Facilitating BWB network growth, fostering community skill-building, and providing tactical support.
- Championing or evaluating prototypes and projects to enrich the BWB community's learning journey.
- Documenting, disseminating, and sharing open-source toolkits and case studies with stakeholders.
- Demonstrating a deep commitment to participation and resilience-building, while effectively communicating these values.
**Key Duties and Essential Functions:**
**Strategy & Planning (15%):**
- Design and execute a multi-year strategic plan for the BWB program.
- Collaborate with leadership and the BWB Advisory Board to set and accomplish program objectives.
- Contribute to cross-departmental organizational planning efforts as needed.
**Community Engagement (25%):**
- Develop and manage the BWB network, including project leads, chapters, and affiliate partners.
- Offer guidance and support to community leaders and collaborators, alongside the Program Coordinator.
- Cultivate relationships with team members, stakeholders, and volunteers.
- Explore partnerships with Burning Man Regional Network members and other relevant stakeholder groups.
**Programming (25%):**
- Oversee project pipelines and engagement strategies within the BWB network.
- Evaluate proposals and opportunities to support internal and network projects.
- Define success metrics and analyze project outcomes accordingly.
- Spearhead the development and implementation of grant programs.
**Operations (20%):**
- Manage program operations, including budget development and resource allocation.
- Monitor year-to-date expenses against budget projections.
- Collaborate with the Philanthropic Engagement team and Legal Department as necessary.
- Supervise volunteer teams involved in BWB activities.
**BWB Black Rock City Camp (10%):**
- Engage in planning meetings with BWB camp leaders and contribute to on-playa BWB initiatives.
- Support and motivate BWB-BRC camp leadership.
- Participate in and support day-to-day management of BWB camp activities.
**Other Functions and Responsibilities (5%):**
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
**Required:**
- Willingness to adjust schedule seasonally to work at Burning Man events and the annual BWB Summit in Nevada.
- Proficiency in community organizing or network management.
- Familiarity with Human-Centered Design or similar facilitation frameworks.
- Knowledge of nonprofit sector best practices.
- Occasional travel to BWB engagement projects.
**Preferred:**
- Experience in on-the-ground project management.
- Interest in storytelling and media as vehicles for conveying values.
- Familiarity with Burning Man culture and events.
**Required Licenses/Certifications:**
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
**Learning and Teaching:**
- Contribute to documentation, teaching, mentoring, training development, and ongoing learning.
