About the Job
The Program Financial Analyst works closely with the Executive Director and Treasurer to ensure the Wanda Alston Foundation remains in a financially strong position to continue making a positive impact on the lives of LGBTQIA2S youth experiencing homelessness.
The Program Financial Analyst leverages their financial analysis and bookkeeping skills to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting and planning, and reimbursement from grantors.
This role is perfect for an experienced bookkeeper passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth experiencing homelessness.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
· Create, track, and update budgets and financial plans
· Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and reports including P&L statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement
· Maintain a record of expenses, including those related to each Wanda Alston Foundation grant
· Prepare itemized monthly invoices for each of the Wanda Alston Foundation’s grants
· Support the annual audit and financial filing process by providing external auditors with requested documentation in a timely fashion
· Collaborate with Wanda Alston colleagues and leadership as well as grantors to ensure all financial matters are handled efficiently
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline plus a minimum of two years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience
· Deep desire to make a positive impact on the lives of LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
· Experience working with QuickBooks accounting software
· Experience supporting month- and year-end close activities including reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and generating financial statements
· Experience preparing itemized invoices for grant-making organizations (experience preparing invoices for Washington DC city government preferred but not required)
· Proficiency with Microsoft office products including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
· Proficiency with Google Workspace products including Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Gmail
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
