What's your day like?

As the Program Director at the YMCA of Reading & Berks County, you will be at the heart of an exciting mission to elevate our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility! You'll oversee day-to-day administration of assigned programs, ensuring that every child and staff member is supported in a vibrant, engaging environment. Your role encompasses everything from budgeting and expense control to program development and quality assurance, all while maintaining our facilities. What we're looking for in a Program Director

To thrive as the Program Director at YMCA of Reading & Berks County, you'll need a dynamic blend of education and experience! A Bachelor's degree in a related field or at least 30 credits in areas like early childhood education, child development, or human services sets the stage for your success. With a preferred two years of related experience-especially in licensed childcare-your background will empower you to lead confidently.

Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are essential for building relationships with our diverse community. You'll need to be at least 18 years old and ready to obtain YMCA program-specific certifications. Your ability to connect with various social and economic groups will ensure that every program resonates meaningfully.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent. Bachelor's degree or minimum 30 credits in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred. Two years related experience preferred. Experience in licensed childcare preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to communicate positively and professionally, using the English Language both spoken and written. Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
