Role
This position is Coordinator II for the Boston Breathe Easy at Home Program (BEAH). BEAH is a multi-sector partnership that uses a web-based referral system to link clinical sites with housing code inspections and enforcement for patients with asthma.
In addition to all duties in Program Coordinator I, Program Coordinator II will perform these duties:
* Develops implements and manages projects and/or initiatives for assigned BPHC program/department.
* Develops and implements activities to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards and/or contracted goals & objectives.
* Serves as a Team Leader on BEAH.
* Collaborates and meets with partners to determine program requirements, standards and goals.
* Plans and facilitates monthly partner meetings and provide meeting minutes.
* Reviews and analyzes information and data concerning BEAH, to determine effectiveness; makes recommendations for changes in procedures; provides technical assistance and advice to staff and others; responds to inquiries and maintains liaison with various external agencies to provide information concerning program.
* Collaborates with various private, state, local and federal agencies, health and advocacy organizations to exchange information and/or resolve problems.
* Coordinates activities which may include fiscal monitoring, grant writing; monitoring of funded programs or agencies to ensure compliance; report preparation and writing; and assisting with developing and distributing communications, brochures and educational materials.
* Updates BEAH website and produce newsletter.
* Delivers services according to established program protocol.
* Collaborates and meets with management staff to determine program requirements, standards and goals.
* Evaluates projects or initiatives to determine effectiveness and to recommend changes/improvements.
* Represents BPHC and program at meetings, health fairs and conferences. Assists in overseeing specialized research and evaluation projects.
* Works with clinical sites and city agencies to expand program scope and address multiple housing and health concerns.
This job description is based on the Program Coordinator Series. May be required to perform any and all duties and responsibilities of a Coordinator II, as set forth in the BPHC Coordinator Series.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Master's degree in Public Health. Health Policy Administration, or a related discipline, such as sociology, organizational psychology, public health nursing, or health communications required; OR BA/BS and 2 years of equivalent experience in public health program coordination, management and/or community organizing; OR 5 years equivalent experience in public health program coordination, management and/or community organizing may be substituted for undergraduate degree.
* Licenses, certifications or program specific experience may be required by grant or program needs.
* Demonstrated experience coordinating and implementing complex projects in the area of position.
* Demonstrated experience or related requirements as established by the program may be needed.
* Ability to: write clear, concise reports, and to follow and to give written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner; ability to understand, explain, apply the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures of unit activities; supervise, including: planning and assigning work; evaluating and motivating staff; determining the need for disciplinary action; and either recommending or initiating disciplinary action; ability to establish rapport with others and to maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
* Advanced Knowledge and experience MSOffice and MSWord/Excel, SAS with the ability to analyze and interpret data. Advance experience with and knowledge of local community agencies and health care providers.
* Exceptional organizational skills with the ability of developing timelines and meeting deadlines.
* Demonstrated cultural competence with diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic groups.

* Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
* Valid Massachusetts driver's license required. Ability to commute to meetings in own vehicle (car or bicycle) required.
