We build effective partnerships with co-workers throughout the College by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance to all and maintain an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles. *Job Description:* *GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:* The Program Coordinator of Student Engagement supports the Director of Student Engagement by advising student organizations, assisting in the planning and implementation of student events, and contributing to departmental goals and initiatives. *SUPERVISION RECEIVED: *Director of Student Engagement *SUPERVISION EXERCISED: *Student Staff *SALARY: *$42,000-$48,000 This position is governed by the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) Collective Bargaining Agreement. *To be considered for the position, please apply DIRECTLY to the MassArt employment opportunities page: https://massart.interviewexchange.com/static/clients/576MAM1/index.jsp* *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Assist recognized student organizations in: o Event planning, execution, and evaluation; including managing supply and catering orders as well as the contracting and payment of both internal and external performers, vendors and service providers o Coordination of travel, including booking transportation, reserving lodging, and registering students for conferences o Working with Conference and Visiting Events to reserve space and coordinate all technical and facilities-based needs for student events * Hire, train and supervise the MassArt Activities Council (MAC), the institution's programming board. Assist them in planning and executing a diverse schedule of social and cultural events, and provide mentorship, professional development, training, and guidance to maximize the efficacy of the programs they offer MassArt students. * Participate in the development and facilitation of leadership training opportunities for students (i.e., Student Organization Leader Training, Emerging Leaders program) * Coordinate traditional programs such as the Involvement Fair, Late Night Breakfast, Constitution Day, and voter education programs * Hire, train and supervise 2-3 student Volunteer Coordinators. Work with them to identify volunteer and community service opportunities, assisting in the coordination of these opportunities * Assist the Director in implementing New Student Orientation and transition events. Participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of Orientation Leader staff. * Assist in marketing programs and events sponsored by the Colleges of the Fenway consortium, and the ProArts consortium. Serve on consortium committees as assigned. * Assist Director and Student Development staff in supporting major university programs (i.e., Commencement, Accepted Students Days, Family & Supporter programs, etc.) * Performs other related duties as assigned *Minimum Qualifications:* Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: 1-3 years working in a Higher Education setting Skills: * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously * Strong oral and written communication skills * Ability to take initiative, and work independently and creatively * Computer literacy and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data analysis. * Strong fiscal management skills * Experience working closely with students from diverse backgrounds in a higher education setting. * Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty to develop and implement programs and events for undergraduate college students *Preferred Qualifications:* Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Counseling or related field Skills: * Experience supervising student employees, and advising student leaders * Spanish speaking and/or multilingual *Additional Information:* Please note MassArt does not provide: * Employment-based visa sponsorship or non-student exchange visitor visa sponsorship. * Reimbursement for travel.
