Agency Description
The Office of Public Safety (OPS) was launched in 2024 to make communities safer, improve public perceptions of safety, and help communities heal from the traumas of violence. In pursuit of those goals, OPS coordinates multi-disciplinary public safety efforts across City government and with community and institutional stakeholders. Currently, OPS has over 100 staff and is home to five (5) individual offices: Office of Criminal Justice, Office of Safe Neighborhoods, Office of Reentry Partnerships, Office of Victim Advocate, and Town Watch Integrated Services.
The Office of Safe Neighborhoods (OSN) implements strategies and initiatives to prevent, reduce, and end violence in Philadelphia. OSN is particularly focused on addressing gun violence.
The Office of Criminal Justice (OCJ) advances the Parker’s Administration’s goals of public safety and community well-being through collaborative and data-driven initiatives in Philadelphia’s criminal and juvenile justice systems.
Town Watch Integrated Services (TWIS) is a volunteer focused safety effort. Residents of the community who wish to volunteer for their community will receive assistance from Town Watch Integrated Services.
The Office of Reentry Partnerships (ORP) was formed in August 2019 to elevate and organize citywide reentry efforts and support the Parker Administration’s goal for criminal justice reform, violence prevention, and community reinvestment.
The Office of the Victim Advocate (OVA) was opened in February 2022 to provide coordination, strategic planning, and service provision for the oversight for victims, co-victims, and survivors of crime, with a special emphasis on gun violence and homicide.
Job DescriptionThe Anti-Violence Community Partnership Grant (AVCPG) Program Coordinator will monitor anti-violence community partnership grant program activities to ensure alignment with AVCPG grantees’ grant agreements. The AVCPG program consists of two (2) types of grants: Community Expansion Grants (CEG) and Targeted Community Investment Grants (TCIG).
Essential Functions
The AVCPG Program Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties:
- Monitor the AVCPG programmatic activities and compliance.
- Maintain systems for document organization, routing, and tracking.
- Review grant applications, grant agreements, and/or contracts to ensure understanding of activities to be monitored.
- Conduct monthly site visits and routine monitoring to ensure activities are being conducted in compliance with the grant agreement/contract.
- Coordinate with the fiscal analysts to ensure alignment between fiscal and programmatic activities and grant agreements.
- Review and analyze grantee programmatic reports to ensure compliance with grant agreement/contract.
- Prepare routine progress reports on grant-funded activities.
- Elevate feedback and concerns to the AVCPG Program Manager, including when:
- Activities do not comply with grant agreements/contracts.
- Performance is not satisfactory.
- Grantee/contractor needs technical assistance and capacity building support.
- Adhere to set policies and procedures.
- Support the activities of the Anti-Violence Community Partnership TA and evaluation contracts, as needed, which may include but may not be limited to:
- Supporting site visits as needed, which may include supporting focus groups, on-site evaluations, and interviews.
- Conducting data entry as needed.
- Administering program participant surveys, as needed.
- Supporting coordination between grantees and vendors.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate with all levels of government and non-governmental agencies.
- Ability and willingness to serve as a partner to anti-violence grantees, majority of which are community-based organizations.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner and seek supervisor guidance as needed.
- Ability to follow strict privacy and security protocols for handling sensitive data in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility and capacity to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
- Flexibility to work in the field.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly.
- Familiarity with program monitoring practices and principles.
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university.
- Familiarity with program monitoring, contract management, and/or grant reporting.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000
