POSITION SUMMARY:
The Programs Assistant/Office Manager is key to the success of the chapter and will report to the chapter Program Director. Duties include, but are not limited to, planning chapter programs for families, coordinating vendor relationships, and tracking and reporting event outcomes. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the chapter office. This includes greeting visitors, opening mail, and addressing basic office needs.

We do this through our Adventures – cost-free, care-free visits to amusement parks, sporting events, museums, holiday parties, and much more. We are condition agnostic – any child, birth to age 20, with a life-threatening condition can enroll for free with A Kid Again. And we serve their whole family including their parents and siblings, so that they can all take a time out from illness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Program Planning: Based in the Columbus office, remotely plan family programs, called Adventures, for families in southwest Ohio. This includes securing venues, planning activities, coordinating entertainment, tickets, and mailings, as well as tracking RSVPs and attendance.
Event Management: Work with the Outreach & Events Coordinator to ensure volunteer and day-of event needs are met. This includes ensuring all event details are well-organized and prepared.
Family Experience Coordination: Communicate with families regarding Adventures and their overall A Kid Again experience. This includes announcing and providing updates on all event details and answering questions through email, phone and social media. All while being sensitive to the needs and situations that our families face.
Manage the Columbus office: This includes greeting visitors, opening mail, managing maintenance on the office and on two vehicles, and ensuring basic office needs are met. This position will also remotely support office needs for the southwest Ohio office.
BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (nonprofit preferred)
- Experience in program/event creation and implementation
- Strong computer skills, particularly with experience working in Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud (or other donor database) and Microsoft Office. Adobe and/or Canva experience a plus.
