About the Job
1) maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the American Bar Association's Model Rules of Professional Conduct and rules adopted in states where the Firm conducts business, and recognizing jurisdictional differences;
2) providing timely and concise evaluations of conflict screening reports to identify potential ethical and business issues and proposing plans for resolution;
3) supporting the responsible attorneys in resolving conflicts and drafting and/or reviewing conflict waivers as requested;
4) assisting attorneys with drafting and obtaining engagement letters;
5) analyzing prior work histories of potential new hires, identifying any conflict issues, and assisting in resolution;
6) analyzing outside counsel guidelines and requests for proposal;
7) assisting the co-General Counsel with written responses and document production in response to subpoenas to the Firm; and
8) additional independent responsibilities as directed by the Firm's co-General Counsel.
The ideal candidate must be authorized to practice law in one of the jurisdictions where the firm has an office and have a minimum of three years of experience in a law practice or position involving professional responsibility issues (large law firm and litigation experience preferred).
The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $225,000 to a maximum of $250,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
