Production Worker/Forklift Driver Part Time

Work as a member of a team on a production line, operating machinery and equipment, working in the grinding room and in stuffing and packaging areas. Must have good attendance, a good attitude, and a good work ethic and be flexible and willing to assist with all tasks involved in production work. Position will require working in both hot and cold environments and in coolers with temps below 40 degrees. Experience operating machinery (preferably manufacturing and packaging machinery and equipment) and working in a meat processing and packaging environment is preferred. This is a mid-entry level position and on the job training will be provided.

Job Duties:

• Operate, break down, put together and run production machinery and equipment which may include packaging machines, peelers, cutters, stuffers, mixers, grinders, etc. Willingness to learn to operate new machinery and equipment.
• Must know how to operate a pallet jack and riding forklift.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Must be willing to cross train on various pieces of machinery and equipment.
• Must be willing to work in various production areas as directed by management.
• Packing and taping boxes and placing them onto pallets.

• Moving 40+ lbs tubs of meat.
• Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile ups, jams, split casings, leaking packages and sausage sizes.
• Sort, grade, and weigh sausage products. Verify and adjust product weight or measurement to meet company specifications.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during production operations.
• Able to dress properly and withstand cold environments in coolers.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must follow all company rules and policies, especially those rules and polices pertaining to safety.
• Ability to lift boxes and containers weighing up to 40+lbs.
• Ability to fork raw meat into containers for weighing.
• Willingness to learn how to operate machinery and equipment used in daily production.
• Willingness and ability to take direction from management or other employees as management determines.
• Willingness and ability to carry out other tasks, as necessary, such as, but not limited to: cleaning meat on floors and mopping/cleaning coolers and organizing pallets and boxes of products and supplies.

Requirements:

• must possess minimum 2-4 years working in production environment.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in food industry preferred.
• Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and willingness to learn.
• Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Fluent in English (reading & writing)

$20.00-21.00/hr

Permanent plus full compensation package

Part Time Hours Include:

Mon- 6am-4pm

Tuesday-6am-4pm

Weds-6am-11am

Thursday- 6am-11am (occasionally, no work most Thursdays)
