Job Summary: Plan, direct and coordinate activities of plant staff engaged in the manufacturing and shipment of quality products in a timely manner. Responsible for compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements and manufacturing procedures.
What will you do:
- Execute the production and shipping schedule.
- Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Assist supporting functions including QC testing, physical inventory, work order transactions, etc. during the startup phase of grease business.
- Implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in work methods or procedures.
- Develop or revise standard operational, work instructions, housekeeping and safety practice, and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Monitor and support safe work practices. Investigate accidents and near miss incidents to improve safety
- Develop team members.
- Perform any and all production, shipping or receiving duties.
- Resolve worker grievances or participates in formal or informal grievance process.
- Actively works with staff and leadership for team-building continuous improvement of production activities.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with position customers, and meet customer needs.
- Compiles, store, and retrieve production data; produce reports for position customers.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B.S. ) in related technical discipline with experience as a supervisor or in a team lead role preferred. Persons with an education less than a degree must demonstrate four to ten years of successful related experience and training.
- Must have successful work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to manufacturing of chemical products or technical knowledge of manufacturing and handling of large scale equipment.
- Experience in managing union plant preferred.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, Order processing, Inventory, Manufacturing software, Database software.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises other employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, union contract and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
