Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Description
The Production Supervisor will drive production and manufacturing results through ownership and accountability. The role ensures that budgeted performance is reached on all lines and meets line performance objectives, including changeover objectives and maintaining washouts to required timelines. The position involves working with maintenance to ensure appropriate operations and maintenance collaborations, adhering to the PM program, and sharing knowledge through training. The Supervisor will also develop and implement systems to improve production efficiencies that are sustainable and repeatable.
Responsibilities
+ Constantly focus on improving line performance and limiting downtime.
+ Ensure mechanical knowledge is communicated to all technicians and operators.
+ Develop and deliver effective briefs, reports, and meetings.
+ Attend all inter-department meetings to coordinate plans, complete required safety items, cross-train employees, ensure GMP and SQF compliance, and verify QC checks on running product.
+ Understand and know the short-term as well as long-range goals and targets for production.
+ Monitor and update SOPs as needed.
+ Plan and execute effective line startups and ensure equipment cleaning is maintained.
+ Implement and manage the Production Department training matrix, document expert knowledge, develop training programs, and track the effectiveness of training.
+ Lead shift meetings, communicate necessary information, and manage employee performance.
+ Lead projects including capital improvements, new product runs, packaging or container changes, and issue investigations using six sigma tools.
+ Attend safety meetings and lead process improvement teams.
+ Develop knowledge of plant operations and main support systems.
+ Communicate clearly with the team, monitor performance, and address inefficiencies through coaching and motivation.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Essential Skills
+ Four years of experience in a production and/or engineering environment.
+ Strong leadership capabilities in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, & Outlook).
+ Troubleshooting and Lean Manufacturing experience.
+ Understanding of SQF and responsibilities for Food Safety/Food Quality.
+ Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an organized, detailed manner.
+ Flexibility to work alternate shifts if production needs allow.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous experience in the food/beverage manufacturing industry preferred but not required.
+ Understanding of operational electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.
